Create a Killer Concept with a dynamic role
starring you

As an actor, you possess unique characteristics that distinguish you as both a person and a performer. In this class you will discover how to uncover and exemplify these characteristics to create your own work and book more jobs. Rob Margolies’ direct, creative approach is reflected in the results of his own extensive credit list, as well as the careers of many actors and creators he has mentored.

Class Structure:

Prior to the class
, you will be assigned a 1-page original scene written specially for you by Rob to prepare and own. Rob will evaluate your materials (including headshots, reel, and website) as well as give you an introductory phone call to aid in crafting a role that emphasizes your specific type and essence.

During the class,
you will first perform the scene as prepared and then meticulously deconstruct it with Rob. You will then do the scene a few more times, applying redirects and fresh perspectives. This introductory assignment will be unlike any other workshop you have taken and open your mind while coaching you on how to best market yourself and audition for any role. Your acting work will be filmed so you will be able to watch the recording later.

After the acting exercise, the class will transition to a short writing exercise designed for actors. Rob will show you how to properly write and develop your own concepts that emphasize your strengths.  Concept is equally as important as character! No previous writing experience is necessary!  (Please bring a laptop or pen and paper to take notes.)
By the end of the class you will walk away with a detailed, personalized evaluation of your strengths and growth areas as an actor. As a creator, you will have a very executable concept along with a dynamic lead role at your fingertips. This powerful combination will attract you worthy attention and new opportunities in this highly competitive industry

To inspire you for the future after taking this class, Rob will close with providing insider tips and ideas on each actor’s next steps.
